This shot was inspired by one of my Flickr Contacts, Paul.
And since this was basically this weeks trend in my walk in life, why not pay a tribute about it.
For the past months (probably this whole year) it has been nothing but a wild goose chase for my 'own' desires. And during these chase I've forgotten who I am and who I was designed to be.
I've mixed my own will and flexed my own muscles after these 'wants' and that lead me to compromise even the very standards that defined me of who I am as a follower of Christ.
It lead me to nothing but emptiness and being numb to the point that I begged for a feeling from none other but Him.
From there on then... I've relinquished control of my life and set aside my desires of my own.
Used to be the commander-in-chief of my pimp ship flying high.
Everything that I am is surrendered and control over this life is no longer mine. I decided right there and then that I'd trust Him more and let Him work on me for the betterment of me, and the people around me.
With that... here's my 11th entry of my Project 52 for 2010...

10-52 Brewing Storm
This is a picture I took during my niece's birthday last year.
I forgot to take one during the weekend because I kinda left the camera here in the condo.
Anyway I just saw this while I was browsing for pictures and kinda liked it so here's the delayed 10th entry for my project 52.

8:52 Gadget Town
This morning I just took my camera out inside my room to test check the batteries out for my nephews baptism later.
I saw my phone and iPod sitting right next to my laptop and decided to just take a shot at em.
Here's a tribute to the stuff that helps me get through work and workouts.
Here's to the tripod of DJ Gadgetry.

Drooling over the new Canon Camera
Canon unveils the new Rebel camera that they'll come up with this year.
And with my current camera being 6 years old, maybe I'd look into getting this one by the end of this year.
I tried my friends 7D and I immediately fell in love with the video capture of these cameras. Hopefully they're the same with the 550D.
It's coming out on March 2010, along with the $1000 price tag with it ($800 for just the body) I might just splurge on this thing before new year comes swinging.

Worked Out the Old Shots
So a slow day, I chose to sneak in and work on some of my old shots (dated Feb of this year)
I found some of my sunrise pictures from our annual family beach trip. This year, we went to Bohol, and it was the first summer my camera experienced with me. Anyway here are the original shots.

I adjusted colors/curves of the photos and made a little physical adjustment on them.
I cropped out the empty mass from the first picture and managed to come out with this.

Morning Calls
On the 2nd picture, I adjusted the tilt and kinda went crazy with adjusting the color. I don't actually know now if it became better or got worse. Lemme know :)

Burning Skies
I was in Subic last weekend, and my camera got another opportunity to get out of its bag along with his friend mr. tripod.
So while my officemates were busy preparing for their skits and presentations to entertain us through the night, I got my friends out their containers and took some shots. Here are some of the pictures that I took.
While looking at the bay, a white light coming from my left caught my eye. So when I moved towards the source this is what I saw. Problem was there was a ledge blocking my way, good thing the tripod was high enough to get the camera to see the sight. This is what I got.

Right outside the room I saw a tanker docking by the bay. I wasted no time and set up the tripod and aim at the tanker. Took some trials to get my desired shot, and somehow I was speaking to myself as I analyze each picture. I found myself uttering these words... rule of thirds.
hehe this is what I got after adjusting the brightness and contrast.

The original images of these photos can be found in my Multiply site and my Flickr.

Spider Holster, Allowing you to become Quicks-Draw-Mc-Hey!
Among my peers that are photography enthusiasts, the common complaints that I hear from them when carrying their DSLR's are that it's too big, too heavy for the neck, and it's just too big. As soon as I saw this Spiderholster from Engadget, I was kinda convinced that this could be the next best thing for photographers, or could be another one of those idiotic inventions that we could've lived without.
So without further ado... I introduce to you, the spider holster.
So what do you guys think about it? I myself would probably get one, but then again, given the likes of the people you'll get to know here in the Philippines, having a quick-draw camera would also mean a quick-buck for some of our friends in our streets. You know... the hack and swish move they usually do with celphones can easily be done with your camera aswell.
So there, next big small thing? or could've lived without.

I Want...
I may be laying aside my dream for getting new lens at the moment since the new Canon Speedlite 270EX came out recently.
Any photography enthusiasts out there that could give me a thing or two about this?
anyway here's the dealio.

anyway here's the dealio.

Canon Speedlite 270EX
Key Features include:
• High power flash with a maximum guide number 27 m (other sites say upto 50mm)
• Fast, silent recycle times
• Manual flash output (settable via camera menus)
• Speedlite controllable with compatible camera's menu
• Zoom head
• Bounce flash head
It's priced at around Php 7,500. Anyone out there that could give me a thing or two about this? I'm really leaning towards getting one of these since the next good ones (430EX and 580EX II) are priced at around Php15,000 and Php 21,000. I still have no clue when it comes to flash photography, I just know that sooner or later I'll be needing one.
So what should I look after here? Inputs... inputs... inputs! They'll be really appreciated.
And I also found something extra that would help me get the smears out of my preview screen...

The Canon EP-EX15 Eyepiece Extender. This would keep my cheek from touching that preview screen when the going gets tough hehe. I'd probably check Camerahaus and Sanly @ Megamall tomorrow for this one.
So I'm getting addicted with Prime lenses and is seriously considering the 85mm f1.8 lens over the planned zoom lens. 85mm possesses range already and could be versatile aswell when it comes to shooting portraits and events since it's kind of a fast lens. Plus it's not that expensive.
Jeez this photography thingy is really getting alot of my budget lately. So much for that new PC hahaha. No, need to control... Discipline idiot... discipl.... mmmmm Big Mac.

Ferrari F50mm!!!!!
My friend Leon said that this lens would make any shot look good.
So I put that myth to the test, I went out and shot random stuff... Car emblem, a gate, a plate number, a vodka bottle, my laptop, and indeed it made things look awesome.
So here's some of my shots.

Coming Soon

Finally after shooting with my camera for a year... I managed to save up for a new lens. The ever famous "Nifty Fifty". This lens has been famous for making photos look awesome with ultra blurry backgrounds and a master of subject isolation.
This lens is also said to be perfect for light travelers since it's made with light materials, plastic, and with its compact size, you can't go wrong with this one if you're concerned with weight. I think this is Canons shortest and lightest lens as of date... which makes it more awesomer!
It has auto and manual focus aswell... the manual focus couldnt be used that much since the ring is said to be really small... I have yet to see it... will let you guys know as soon as I get my hands on it.
And like I said above, it's perfect for isolating subjects since it can really produce sharp images because of its capability to open its aperture up to f1.8! so hello milky-blurry backgrounds on my next shots.
And I guess the best out of it is it's price!!! It's only priced at Php 4,300 on DPOnline store. With it's price and it's capabilities... I guess it's a perfect 2nd lens for a hobbyist like me.
So come Saturday... I'll have a new toy to play with! next stop... a zoom lens :D
for a more detailed review of the lens check The Digital Picture site.
